Reporting to the Financial Controller, the assistant accountant at V-Nova is instrumental in providing day to day accounting support to the team, helping to maintain accurate and timely financial data. Key duties include invoice posting, personnel expenditure control management, preparation of journals and supplier management to support month-end and reporting activities.

This role requires an individual willing to build relationships, while working closely with the rest of the Finance team and beyond. You will gain exposure to supporting the growth of a technology ‘scale-up’ with complex financial operations, with an aim for a major exit in the next 1-2 years. You will build experience working for an owner-managed business, with space for you to develop your knowledge along with the company. With a small team, you will gain exposure to all aspects of the Finance function, building a wide breath of knowledge.

• Accounting for 5 legal entities with an international footprint
• Responsible for processing supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner
• Reviewing and processing all employee expenses, ensuring compliance with Company policy
• Supplier and purchase order management– reconciling statements and purchase orders, managing records, being pro-active in resolving discrepancies
• Ensure all accounts are accurately monitored and recorded
• Ownership of weekly Bank reconciliations
• Preparing weekly supplier payment run
• Processing payments through bank, monitor and resolve any issues as needed
• Maintenance of Fixed Asset Registers
• Prepare month-end accounting journals (e.g. prepayments, accruals) within agreed timescales and support the Controller in the Month-End process.
• Support monthly departmental reporting and variance analysis
• Support in preparation of annual budget
• Work with the wider Finance team in preparation for annual audit e.g. preparing working papers
• Support ad-hoc information requests by the business in a timely and efficient manner

• Part-qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
• Strong knowledge of accounting (debits & credits prepayments, etc)
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (SUMIF, VLOOKUP & PIVOT TABLE)
• Experience using Sage 200 or similar ERP system for small to medium sized business desirable
• Able to prioritise and maintain accuracy when processing invoices and expenses
• Have a proven track record in processing financial data
