Product Managers are accountable for the conceptualisation, definition, delivery, and commercial performance of V-Nova’s products, including strategy and future roadmaps. Product Managers manage all aspects of theproductlifecycle. 

 

Role Overview: 

V-Nova has developed and productised a number of different video and data formats, including MPEG-5 LCEVC, SMPTE VC-6 and V-Nova PresenZ. MPEG-5 LCEVC is the latest video and image standard from MPEG. LCEVC has been created by V-Nova and its core to our IP, product strategy and go-to-market. Key to this technically focussed product role is the realisation of the go-to-market strategy for LCEVC implementation by V-Nova in the client ecosystem of our multiple target markets. 

As Product Manager, you’ll play a central role in shaping how V-Nova’s technology is experienced by customers and partners. Working closely with management, sales, and engineering, you’ll capture requirements, identify the most valuable opportunities, and translate them into a clear, prioritised product roadmap. You’ll lead product demonstrations, trials, and proof-of-concepts that showcase the value of our technology and directly inform product and commercial decisions. You’ll work day-to-day with engineering and delivery teams to refine requirements, guide implementation, and ensure successful delivery of our software products and reference integrations—across both open-source projects and leading industry platforms. 

You’ll take ownership of product definition and execution, championing quality, clarity, and technical excellence from concept through to delivery and support. You’ll help ensure our operating model enables effective execution, balancing innovation with practical, real-world deployment. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys turning advanced technology into robust, usable products. You’ll help evolve our unique LCEVC technology into solutions that deliver clear benefits to customers today, while building a credible and compelling roadmap for the future. 

You’ll collaborate closely with colleagues across Marketing, Sales, R&D, Engineering, and Delivery, aligning teams around a shared product vision and helping V-Nova continue to set the standard in next-generation video compression.  

Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for delivering on the roadmap of the LCEVC- based products you lead. 
  • Take ownership of the technical direction of LCEVC-based products and development priorities. 
  • Build and maintain the product roadmap and manage prioritization and trade-offs against engineering resources and experience, commercial value, customer experience, and time to market. 
  • Support engagements with top vendor targets to drive them towards revenue generating commercial agreements. 
  • Drive the growth and adoption of the LCEVC products within popular open-source projects and frameworks, fostering strategic partnerships and community engagement. 
  • Work with engineering providing input to technical requirements, refining backlog and partake in Agile planning meetings. Oversee roadmap execution in collaboration with engineering and delivery teams, ensuring milestones are delivered with technical excellence and business impact. 
  • Assess current product offering, market appetite and trends, and IP potential and build a product strategy to deliver on our ambitious goals in the target markets, including media & entertainment, social media platforms, industrial applications and consumer video applications. 
  • Ensure the LCEVC product suite is commercially structured to drive revenue and profitability for V-Nova. Ensure robust product packaging, documentation, and lifecycle management to enable successful customer engagements and long-term sustainability. 
  • Own and lead product feature prioritization, Minimum Viable Features (MVF) definition, Minimum Marketable Features (MMF) definition, wireframes, user scenarios and user experience definition. 
  • Collaborate with marketing to shape product narratives, messaging, and technical thought leadership content for targeted market segments and drive adoptions of your products. 
  • Help establish a collaborative working environment between Product and the Marketing, Sales, R&D, Engineering and Delivery teams. Champion internal knowledge sharing and provide guidance to sales engineering and product marketing teams to strengthen market positioning. 
  • Own and represent the LCEVC products vision internally and with customers and key external partners. Be the product expert. 
  • With your peers in the Product team, proactively identify and resolve strategic issues that may impair the team’s ability to meet strategic, financial, and technical goals. 
  • Maintain and expand industry networking to stay abreast of relevant technical developments and market trends. 
  • Own the product’s pricing structure and policy. Work collaboratively with the Marketing and Sales team to ensure it reflects market positioning and customer expectations. 

 

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within the professional video industry, ideally with a relevant equipment vendor or system integrator. 
  • Experience in a technical product management role bringing new, commercially successful software technologies and solutions to market. 
  • Proven track record in delivering commercial outcomes with partners. 
  • Experience of defining, introducing and delivering product strategy.  
  • Ability to lead from the front and instil confidence in peers across the business. 
  • Solid organisational and planning skills.  
  • Ability to prioritise and multi-task in a fast-moving environment. 
  • Strong communicator with excellent relationship building skills. 
  • Passion for continuous improvement, creative thinker and innovator, solution oriented. 
  • Demonstrable experience helping a small business or business unit deliver high growth.
