We are seeking an exceptional qualified chartered accountant to manage day-to-day finance operations and help scale the business through its next growth phase to exit. The successful candidate combines strong technical accounting and team leadership with solid understanding of finance operations.

We’re looking for someone entrepreneurial, hands-on, and flexible—comfortable leading by example, coaching others, and collaborating cross-functionally. You’ll be part of a lean team initially, but as the company grows, you'll help build and lead a robust finance function prepared for a major exit event.

Ideal candidates will have experience in scaling SMEs and familiarity with large company best practices to implement systems and processes fit for growth. A proactive, operational mindset and drive to take ownership are essential.

• Maintain and improve accurate bookkeeping and accounting for five legal entities, including overseeing the financial management of the US and Belgium subsidiaries
• Manage the full month-end process to trial balance in a timely and accurate manner
• Posting of regular journals, complex accounting transactions, adjustments and reviews while overseeing the accounts assistant’s work
• Consolidation of Group accounts on a monthly basis and helping the CFO in the preparation of the Board pack and meetings
• Optimise the existing accounting systems and processes (Sage 200, expenses tools, PO tools) and prepare for company’s next stage of growth
• Drive the annual full group statutory audit under IFRS, liaising with auditors to a timely sign-off
• Progressively take the lead in defining advanced accounting policies for R&D, intangibles capitalization, funding, revenue recognition etc under IFRS.
• Liaise with CFO and external advisors for timely and efficient completion of tax matters of the Group
• Proactively line manage and develop a strong accounting team through regular 1:1s, objective setting and feedback, in line with the company’s projected growth
• Support the CFO and Department heads in the annual budget preparation with analysis, historicals and timely reporting while providing accurate expenditure controls
• Plan and execute payments on a regular basis and maintain the company’s bank accounts and balances
• Actively forecast and manage cashflow, manage AP and AR for maximum working capital efficiency
• Ensure the Group discharges all its financial, statutory and tax compliance obligations within the required deadlines and support tax compliance, analysis and planning across the Group
• Maintain the administration of share schemes, equity investments and cap table
• Support the CFO in investor relations and fund-raising efforts with ad-hoc analysis and supporting the on-boarding process
• Lead on any due diligence and data room preparation and delivery for funding and for the planned exit.

• Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
• 5+ years’ PQE
• Excellent proficiency/intermediate-advanced Excel
• Good accounting and reporting systems experience a must, Sage 200 ideal
• Excellent technical accounting knowledge (IFRS, leading audit preparation)
• Accuracy, attention to detail and being a completer-finisher is an absolute must while balancing with efficient and timely delivery
• A hands-on approach to bookkeeping, accounting and process improvements
• Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
• Action oriented and a self-starter
• A strong relationship builder who builds trust in key stakeholders
• Skilled in people management and development of others
• Resilience and passion to work in a complex, fluid and dynamic start-up environment
